Started in 2001, the Dot NAME generic top-level domain extension is the sole TLD meant for personal websites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other titles people are famous by. Initially, solely third-level registrations were allowed, so if you wanted to book john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already taken 3rd-level domain names remained functional.

You will be able to alter the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our firm if you obtain its EPP transfer authorization key from the current registration provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been finished. There are no specific prerequisites on who can register a .NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the concept behind its establishment alive, the .NAME Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.
